What is in your Survival/Camping Bag?

What is in your Survival/Camping Bag?

In my last article, we talked about short time (72 hour) bug out bags, aka BOB’s.  As promised, in this article, I am going to focus more on a *long term* survival bag.  This bag would have everything you need in it to survive in the woods for longer than 72 hours.  People often don’t think about surviving if they get lost, they assume just because they have their car or cellphone they can get out of anywhere.  This isn’t always the case.

Purifying and Storing Water for Emergency Prepardness

Purifying and Storing Water for Emergency Prepardness

water-distiller-steamThere are so many ways to purify and store water it is hard to know where to begin.  First and foremost, it is very important to understand that a person can go three weeks without food, and ONLY three days without water.  So when it comes to storage for disaster situations, water should always take precedence.  So think about that for a few minutes.

What exactly have you done to store water for you and your family should disaster strike?  If you ran out of your stored water, do you know how to purify more?  In this article I plan to share with you a beginning into purifying and storing your own water for any phtf (poo hits the fan) scenario.  That could be job loss, water contamination, natural disasters, EMP, and many other cases.

waterSomething most of us take for granted is water.  We never really have a need for it outside of turning on the tap, so what happens when you can no longer do that?  Where will you get more water?  The most obvious place is the store right?  Come on now, that’s to easy!  What about when you live out in the country and your water gets shut off?  Or your well water is contaminated?  What if we suddenly get hit with an EMP and lose all electricity?  (Our water pumps are electric) Then what will you do?  How will you collect water if you don’t have your water purified and stored properly?  In this article, my goal is to teach you a few ways to collect water outside of the norm.
